Brandguide Self-Reflection Me and the Team

During a school project, we had to create a brand guide for our own "company." Our team consisted of Lucas, Andrew, Sem, Brian, and me. From the start, it was difficult to establish structure in our collaboration. Although I didn't have a clear role, I tried to be involved in everything, and eventually, I was assigned the role of strategist.

My biggest challenge was keeping the group motivated and ensuring that we took the project seriously. This wasn't easy, as the collaboration was difficult, and some team members showed little initiative. I tried to persuade them and guide the process, though I sometimes did this in a way that may not have been the most pleasant. I asked a lot of questions, challenged people, and kept pushing for action. At times, this led to frustration, especially because the team leader was stubborn—just like me—but I wanted to understand how they came up with certain ideas.

In the end, my approach helped us gain more structure and allowed us to present a clearer story. This ensured that we could explain to our teachers how we arrived at certain decisions without completely failing during the evaluation. The atmosphere within the group didn't necessarily improve, but it did help us take the project more seriously and complete it on time.

What I learned from this experience is that working with different personalities always brings challenges. There will always be people who contribute less or have a different perspective. In the future, I would try to get my team's attention in a different way, without relying solely on persistence and frustration. I want to learn how to communicate and motivate more effectively so that collaboration runs more smoothly and the final result is stronger.

LO4: Professional Standard
Working in a team setting and reviewing it myself what I should do next time

LO5: Personal leadership
I justify this as a LO5 because I believe I have learned from this experience during the brand guide project and will carry this learning forward into future projects.

Using the STARRT method for reflection: Situation, Task, Action, Result and Reflection. A friend introduced me for this method.

Now I will use that method to write my reflection, however I will have to remove a part of the STARRT method due not related to the actual reflection.

It is a personal leadership because it is a good learning lesson for me to bring it into the future.

As well for professional standaard because its important to able to communicate with the stakeholder on a professional level and with the reflection I can use this as a basis for future important interviews.
